Hi, my name is Paul and I am the owner of Glasgow Functional Fitness. I am a reputable personal trainer and sports massage therapist, with over 30 years’ experience of working in some of the UK’s most prestigious health clubs.

Glasgow Functional Fitness opened its doors in October 2020. It is owned by Paul McArdle, who has 30 years experience in the health and fitness industry as a personal trainer and sports and remedial massage therapist. We now have a number of personal trainers working in our private personal training studio. Between us, we have over 60 years experience.

Having trained with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, my Optimum Performance Training programmes are based on scientifically proven approaches, which deliver fast results. Whether you are training to improve your general fitness and wellbeing, to achieve a healthier lifestyle, to lose weight or to improve your sports performance, my tailored and varied programmes will help you to achieve the goals and results you desire in a fun and motivational way.

My programmes provide clients with a systematic and tailored approach to achieve their goals and address their specific needs. They incorporate flexibility, cardio-respiratory, core, balance, reactive and resistance training.

Before starting a programme, you will undergo a full fitness assessment which includes a posture and movement analysis.

My programmes consist of five phases, all of which support fat loss and muscle tone. Your goals will determine which of these phases are included in your own tailored programme.

Phase 1: Improves muscular endurance, increases flexibility and enhances posture

Phase 2: Increases lean muscle mass and enhances joint stabilisation

Phase 3: Increases muscle size and strength

Phase 4: Aims to improve peak performance of bodybuilders and power lifting athletes

Phase 5: Reserved for high level athletes who require maximal levels of power

My specialities include sports specific training, posture and movement analysis, weight loss programmes, functional training, Crossfit and core and back care programmes.
