Glasgow Functional Fitness is a unique rooftop personal training gym, overlooking the River Clyde. Our gym is spacious and well ventilated. The decked area outside the gym is a great spot for exercising on a sunny day or chilling out after a workout.

We are in a prime location and our clients come from all over Glasgow and its outlying suburbs. We are based in the Axiom Building in Washington Street – a vibrant hub of fitness and arts.

We have a friendly and welcoming team of knowledgeable personal trainers, who are committed to helping you achieve your fitness goals in a fun and motivational way.

We have all the latest cardio equipment, including assault bikes, air runner, Concept rowers and a Concept Ski-erg. We also have a great range of resistance equipment, including weights, racks, kettlebells, TRX and even a punch bag and speedball.

Our facilities include changing and shower areas. We also have a sports and remedial massage clinic on-site.

    What is functional training?

    Functional training focuses on movements that help you function better in your everyday life. It trains your muscles to work together and prepares them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work, or in sports. For example, a deadlift can help you train to pick up a heavy suitcase and put it in the boot of your car without pulling a muscle in your back.

    While this is just one example, our bodies were designed to move in different ways categorized into human movement patterns. We’re made to push and pull with our upper body, hinge at the hips, bend into a squat, lunge or step up, and rotate. Incorporating functional training into your exercise routine will help keep muscles functioning as they were designed.
